They need to address the battery drain issue with 33R.

To be honest, I don't see any problem with battery life. It has always been the same since 22R for me.

Based on my usage, my OPO start from 8 am in the morning and will reach around 10% left at around 12 midnight. With 25R and 33R, it's just plus minus 5%. Some more I play my online card game throughout the day.

In fact as off this moment, my battery is now at 65% after 8 hrs with 2 hrs on screen time.

Of course I don't deny that some people are facing battery problems but there are too many factors in play to just point the finger at battery drain problem.

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm on a custom kernel so there may be some improvements on battery life. However I did run the phone on stock 33R kernel for a while and it's pretty much the same usage time for me.

What needs to be addressed is not battery life but the multi touch issue...

They are working on it and they have updated the touch firmware using latest drivers from the display manufacturer.

If you can't wait and if you are rooted, can try Franco kernel latest version. He already included the commits with the updated touch drivers.

I can say that they eliminated the problem to around 90%. I still see some ghost swipes once in a while but at least most of the time I can type fast fast.

Not sure if they can still improve more because I suspect there's some hardware fault in this but for now it's pretty good.

Check under the battery life thread at opo forum, many power users are reporting more battery consumption every hr during standby on 33R as compared to 25R. Problem is still persisting on 33R. If you just use your phone normally, you cant tell the difference but benchmarks shows otherwise. I personally do not have any problems with 'ghost touches'. Im using ak kernel with stock rom and the battery life is good. 7-8 hrs SOT with heavy usage.

Using swype keyboard. Too lazy to try others. The touch screen was really bad for me as trying to type slowly will cause ghost swipes for no reason. At least now I can type normally without any swiping.

Err, that thread abit outdated liao. Those people were comparing 25R with 30O, which I admit is the build that has the battery drain issue. You can tell because those posts were just after CM released 30O and before 33R came out.

33R is actually the version that is supposed to fix the battery drain found on 30O. So are you still saying that on 33R, there are battery drain issues? Because 33R is supposedly the one that at least fixed the battery to decent level. Some people were still saying that it's not as good as 25R while others say it is quite good.

Hmm I did compared them and 25R being the best while 30O and 33R were quite terrible. The standby drain with and without wifi/4G all had the same results. Franco kernel was better while ak was the best for me.

on standby mode most of the time:

mine with 4G on can only last about 30hrs but I turn off 4G totally yesterday and after 20 hrs... batt life left 78%.

going to test wifi mode...

add: GPS is on during 4G off test so I think it contribute to some batt drain, if GPS off should even save more batt.

Definitely get better standby time with wifi. Problem is there always has been debate on 4g vs 3g. You got half of the pool saying 4g saves more battery due to better connectivity thus your cpu load is reduced as tasks are completed faster. Can be quite subjective as telco, signal strength, user usage all comes into play.

I think I had bad batt perf on 4G because in my area... reception is not very good and I can see the data connection keeps switching between H, H+ and LTE constantly so I presumed this drains a lot of batt juice even in standby mode. But heng this happens in my house so I can switch to wifi and then 4G when outdoor. If 4G proofs to be a batt sucker then most probably I will drop it when M1 starts charging next Jan.

Going to test wifi mode starting tomorrow night... expected my current usage will last until tomorrow night before the next full charge. Still left 77% batt as I speak (21st hour) so its fantastic atm.

add: I am on 33R and totally stock. I had SnapDragon BattGuru on but its still in learning phrase.

Recently read up on this phone! How is it? What's difference between non-root and rooting it? How's the battery life, speaker volume, camera and such?
