Was using KK for all my Nexus devices, got Lollipop a long time ago, even in dev preview period. In the end, it's not about the looks - KK on OPO still more stable than the latest and greatest on Nexus. :(

It's going to take Google quite a bit of time to tweak till it's as stable. For all the hoo haa about the pretty UI and how smooth it is, that's only when it's not under load. On KK you don't have that more prevalent 60 fps, but it just works better when things matter.

Now I'm not sure how CM12S is going to be on our OPO, but some things don't bode well. Cyanogen isn't under much pressure to make it as close to perfect due to their ongoing fiasco with Oneplus. Oneplus' version of Lollipop is either going to be a bomb, or it will just be stock Lollipop without the CM trims which will anger many. And let's not go into CM12 (without the S), which will forever be in nightlies state until CM13. :(

I'll flash to CM12S when it's released to take a look, but Lollipop on my available devices (N5, N7-2, Shield tablet) so far has been disappointing - It just doesn't offer anything more except a bland UI that wastes a lot of space. Sometimes when I see those idiots online clamouring for Material Design updates for apps, it makes me despair. :(

Haha, I do find kit Kat 4.4 more stable and faster than lollipop. For me some of the features like different profiles and priority notifications don't really do anything for me. :0

Lol. Call me one of those idiots then.

I'm not disagreeing with you or anything and every one is entitled to their opinion. I'm of the lollipop is pretty cool club so I'm not complaining. Let's not argue whether Material design is good or not because ultimately it's a UI refresh and everyone has differing opinions on looks and usability. I admit that even Google is inconsistent in how Material should be in their apps but I'm not afraid to say that Material design is a step in the right direction. I just simply don't agree with your view that it's a bland UI since I like how Android has changed with each iteration since cupcake and it's in my humble opinion that Material Design looks the best.

Sure CM12 on OPO is still not ready for prime time, and there are definitely some bugs that may be a show stopper for some but personally I am satisfied enough with it as a daily driver. After all, CM12 is still not officially ready so I expect there to be bugs. If there's anything negative I have to say, it's that all this years Android still gives the impression of a work in progress, so that's where all the criticism comes in. But I'm an optimist so I'd say that android can continually improve itself because of this and not stay stagnant.

ok think I gotta reconsider updating.

Lol, I be frank with you. If you humji or not confident about flashing stuff then yes don't try to update especially if you don't know what to do if something goes wrong. But don't keep on listening to other people comments and decide because of them. You have to personally experience the rom then you decide whether it works for you or not.

The list of patches going into each nightly is simply staggering. Too much work going on and can't afford the phone to go hiccup.
