So far, using for 2 days...

Pros:
- camera quality is acceptable, not flagship but near. It's OPT quality.
- screen, its very bright. I only turn on 20% and its very bright already. On OPT and 5x, I will need 40-50% to match its 20% brightness. It's very sharp and colourful, typical amoled quality. No complains. Very white also, not yellowish.
- battery life, same as OPT. Can get me 4-5hrs SOT average use. Which is also similar to 5x.
- CPU, fast enough for day to day usage. Never experience any lag so far. In fact, it open apps faster than 5x which is faster than OPT. Probably sd801 is very efficient in heat dissipation, so no need thermal throttling. It's also cool to the touch, never really gets warm even during gaming asphalt 8.
Build quality, its damn good. It's iphone4 quality if you can remember. My bro who is die hard iPhone fans told me he like it very much. He finds the 4.7" of ip6 too small and 5.5" of ip6+ too big, this 5" is a sweet spot. He even told me to sell opx to him when I get bored of it. This is saying a lot coming from a iPhone fanboy.

Cons:
- can't think of any yet for my usage as I dont use nfc and no 5ghz ac WiFi to me also OK since internet bandwidth to overseas never go more than 50mbps in my experience.
- hard to find cases and tempered glass but I managed to order them via qoo10 yesterday so no issue.
- sdcard, not working well as reported in many forums. Heard firmware update coming soon to resolve it.

In summary, its a nice looking, good build quality phone that does everything well, but not outstanding in any areas. Nice price and sensible size and weight makes it a very nice phone to use and to be seen using.

thank you for your comprehensive usage review! Can't wait to get mine soon! The screen quality is it good, I heard you can see banding if you look very near! and is this your daily driver or do you use other phone as well? Thank you!

I don't see any bandings on the screen. If you saw it on YouTube, that's the characteristics of amoled when being filmed as the frequency of the screen flickers slower than LCD.

Yes using as my main driver now, after using 5x for 2 weeks and OPT for 1 month. That's why I can compare them. :)

Bro, how's the feel on the screen on scrolling etc? Does it feels choppy or laggish? I downgrading from IP6+ lol .
Also to stick to the China firmware or reflashing would be better?
Cheers

Screen is OK when scrolling. I don't find any diff compared to 5x or OPT or any Android phones i used. As I mentioned, didn't find any lag.

China firmware is hydrogen OS, which is without app drawer like ios, looks slick and nice but it does not have playstore and I am not sure how to install.

Oxygen os, which is the international one is stock Android experience with playstore by default. IMO should work better as you don't need to download gapps and such.

means gonna officially sell in SG soon? @_@

Hope will be offered at telco. It could mean getting a stock Android like experience, and a really well build phone into the hands of the masses. Not unlikely considering Singtel is selling the OP2 now.

Hope the price will around S$400

S$399 will be sweet.

if that's the case, should I not get the exported set and wait for the official set instead? :( Any differences?

been using the phone for a few days. The size, build quality and comfort is truly like a flagship, been really loving it. You really notice how much you miss smaller phone with one-handed use, with a thin body unlike Z5 compact. Plus with my fav AMOLED tech for screen (though not as vibrant as Sammy), its really a good deal! :D

Yeah the issue with SD card is a little annoying but just gotta wait. If not, apparently can reformat and it will work, but I will just wait (too much stuff in SD card).

Had a little issue with the Network (am with M1), but once set to automatic, it's fine. Receiving LTE most of the time.

Yes. I agree.

In the end, it took a young Chinese company to come out with a sensible size, good quality phone that runs almost stock Android at affordable price.

What are all the big companies designers doing? Every year just put in newest CPU, increase screen size and nothing else. I can also become phone designer if that's the case.

BTW for m1, put the apn to sunsurf and it will work well for LTE. It's the same issue on OPT.

If you ask me, I find it more shiok using the opx. :)

It's smaller, thinner and just looks way more style carrying it. Everyone just ask me what phone I use when they saw me as they never seen a 5" iPhone before. :p

Experience wise, as I mentioned it almost similar to 5x. Screen definitely opx is sharper, brighter and contrasty.
