haha! its under asics, so I'm not too sure if its really from Japan, but anyway, i doubt it will be much cheaper over there, although the selection of choices may be more perhaps? haha

Was at Gold Coast Harbour Town outlet shopping and there is an Asics/Onitsuka outlet and their Onitsuka tigers are all on 70% sale
Limited sizes and not a huge range of designs. But I managed to get a pair
