from what i read
is onkyo se300pcie>se200pci>titanium HD>xonar essence

getting eh better sound card for music with aktimate speaker.

Saw some of the onkyo cards at taiwan before.. For se300 only japan have it.. And titanium hd is better than xonar essence?

i use se-200pci ltd ...
very nice sounding for music ... better than xfi prelude and xonar essense stx

dont know how much better it over 200pci/essence/titanium hd

need justified the cost/value

due to x-fi chip, it follow creative sound color... some might not like the sound.

if your main is music, i would sugget se200pci ltd instead (considering the price is much cheaper). but if you factor others like gaming and movies, and your computer dont have pci slot, maybe se300 will be better choice.
for me, se300 not worth the price

to get a better sound with the onkyo, try connected to a DA converter in between. This way the sound frequencies range will be wider. Easy for upgrade next time with other accessories for better sound quality
