I have just ordered a olympus e-pm2 from amazon. I am pretty much a noob at photography. Just read about aperture, shutter and ISO. Though not sure, how to use/adjust them to get good shots in diff situations.

Any good sites esp for compact cameras which gives you setting values to use for certain shots (ala recipes) :)

Any books will also be good but not too in-depth like for DSLR.

You are looking for magic formulas where there are none. And the basics between DSLR and compact camera are the same. Best to read up on the newbies guides on ClubSnap, and the many newbie photography guides like on DPreview, etc.

For books, look at Bryan Peterson's books. They are available in the library. And don't underestimate how much work goes into professional food shots, from the lighting sources, to hiring a food presenter, to fake steam, etc.

Oh, one more thing... READ THE STICKY we have right here in this section. It's a detailed guide with links to online resources.

In other words, before starting a new "SIC" thread, you should have spent 30 seconds to look at the existing resources. Please learn how to be an independent learner instead of expecting to be spoonfed.
