hi guys, need your advice/help on a few questions regarding OOT.

i enlisted 4 months ago and POP is next month but my OOT is pending.I fainted once during bmt and was sent out and the doctor gave me 2 weeks attn C.when i came back to training,my knee couldnt cope up and was referred to a physio. The physio diagnosed me with patellar tendonitis in my right knee and PFPS in my left knee. The camp MO gave me further 3 weeks LD(attn b).Though i missed BTP,grenade with my company,i managed to complete BTP and pass it when i was attached to another company. But as soon as we started outfield trainings like BTP,grenade etc, rashes have been developing all over my legs and the doctor said its skin dermatitis probably due to allergy of some kind.As a result, too many status days is what caused me to OOT.

1)my coy admin staff said that he submitted my OOT form to HQ on monday(08-05-17).how long will it take for me to get new posting?

2)Do i have to come back to tekong for BMT recourse?if yes, when?

3)my coy is going for field camp on 19 may,do i have to go too?

4)what are the likely jobs i might get?

5)will my ORD date be affected/changed as i have not completed bmt?

6)what would be next in my NS life?

1) I normally don't like to answer Recruits because they always ask stupid questions. But I used to be a Recruit myself & we are always call Blur Recruit by commanders cause we don't know how system work. So I pity you & answer your questions.

2) Your ORD date will not be affected/changed just because you have not completed bmt. It will only extend if you go DB or directly force you to volunteer extend your ORD to do things like NDP.

3) Your coy is going for field camp on 19 may & you mostly will be going as a saikang warrior & not as a trainee by on my experience. However since we are not your commander, so nobody can confirm about this.

4) OOT does not mean post out! SAF needs to have your PES status to determine sending you for Full BMT or modified BMT. If you are Combat fit, you just needs to transfer to other Coy within BMTC or even remain in your COy if there is a next intake. If you are unfit, you may post out to Kranji camp 3 for part of BMT & other school for vocation training as other part of your BMT before you POP/POC in Kranji camp 3. If your PES is not out by POP, you will mostly be remain in your Coy or HQ at BMTC to do saikang by on my experience. Since we do not handle your case, nobody can confirm about this.

5) You are a coc.kster lah! You don't even know what is your PES status & type of BMT, how do we even guess what is your vocation (job)? Even we know your PES status & type of BMT, we will not know your vocation due to random deployment for NS!

6) You are a joker lah! You don't even know what is your new PES status, type of BMT, future NSF vocation & future NSF unit, you want to talk about reservist life?

2) Yes. Definitely. With Singapore's birth rate going down, they won't let go of any combat fit soldiers

3) You might stay in camp. Or help out the ammo spec to distribute ammos during the outfield.

4) Normally OOT people are attached to driver/storeman/clerk posting. Driver is rare while the other 2 are common

5) ORD will never change unless you commit serious crimes and go DB.

6) OOT won't change your life. Relax.

1) How we know when your posting come, depends on how fast they process la

2) yes, cfm recourse but when, nobody know. I had seen ppl going back for recourse 2-3 mths before ORD but that is becuz they from pes E upgraded to pes C. So need go tekong for the 4wk modified bmt. They no need go simi Kranji or Sembawang camp for the vocational bmt stage.

3) go as saikang warrior lor unless u had been instructed to stay at coy line

4) Jobs? U mean vocation? This one how we know, depends on your pes and the unit u posted to

5) No la, u still ORD on the same date as those who had enlisted with u on that day

6) What is next?? Just pray ORD date come faster lor

Yes, must recourse BMT first, then see how. Until then, you'll likely become lobo personnel until you can join the next recruit batch, is permanently downgraded, or posted out for good.

Downgrading your PES takes a long time (unless the system has changed). Basically, you'll need to collect medical documents from a specialist doctor for your camp MO, who'll decide whether to send you for Medical Board review. This is a bureaucratic step &, in my time, the Medical Board only met once a month (at another camp). Until then, you'll likely continue to Attend B, & your Encik must assign you light duties accordingly.

(You must continue to seek treatment too, & your Encik must release you to book out for any medical appointments. Otherwise, an unconvinced Medical Board can just give you a new temp PES until further review.)

Not sure about BMTC, but OOT cases in mono intakes can end up as mess boys (part of HQ strength). Those retained in the line companies become nominal storemen. Such assistants follow the unit's operational timeable (stay-in, standbys, mob mannings) &, unless completely excused from outfield, they are usually attached to the RQMS/CQMS & their rations trucks (mess boys wearing PT kits).

Lobo personnel rarely become temp clerks & drivers from what I saw, because you need to attend courses for them prior. Recoursing BMT isn't uncommon, but revocating vocations seldom happen after the training-unit phases. SAF isn't interested in re-investing too much on NSF minions, which OOT cases belong to.
