I got OOT'd during BMT phase and got posted to Airforce, no disrespect but I really find it horribly slack or at least in the department I was posted in. There's so much time where everyone is just sitting around at either on their phone or sleeping. My first question is will I be stuck in this post for 2 years because I really cannot take doing so little for my two years here, It sounds crazy but I want to sweat and work hard in my time here so that at least I can feel I didn't waste my time.

How long does it take to go back to BMT because I would like to go to SCS but if I wait so long for a re post to BMT I doubt they will consider me if I was good enough?

y were u OOC for?

and what is ur job(clerk/storeman) now ?

Chances are, you will be posted back to ur current unit after recourse

u are recourse batch (i.e. i dun think u will go to SCS) and b4 u recourse u will have to go visit MO for FFI

whatever ur vocation(job) now, u will be sent to a course for it in due time..

OOT'd because I torn my quad muscle.

Job is a storeman sadly.

I have heard though from people saying recourse can go to OCS even but they have to extend their service since the course is 9 months.

I'm visiting the specialist next week and I plan on telling him and doing everything I can to convince him not to down pes me.

You've underestimated the type of people out there.

Is it possible though for me to go to SCS still or even OCS but I doubt I could unless I extended my service which I probably would do but only for OCS?

If I can convince the MO to not down PES me does it take a long time for me to go back to BMT ?

Why don't you go sign on since you got such strong desire?

Even if you were to be down PESed, the fact that you did not completed your BMT means you still have to go for recourse ma. Long or not depends on whether people efficient or not lor

I wish I could but its a stay in camp. Also my studies are in the UK and Singapore doesn't offer the course I plan to pursue after NS (Geology). Anything to make my time feel productive or meaningful is all I want.

Because I'm on a very tight schedule with going back to the UK after my service to resume my education. I'm already going to miss 1 week of school when I ORD so I can't afford to miss much more and put off my education. My strong desire is just so I can make the most of these two years and get some sense of accomplishment from it. When I go back to the UK, people ask me what I did in NS and I reply storeman. Their reply will be like many people have told me here, you wasted your time coming back. I want to feel like I didn't waste my time if that makes any sense.

Then go prepare for what you gonna study in the UK and when school starts proper you can pawn everybody?

Are you implicitly implying that a storeman doesn't play an important role in the military? You should go ask people in the British military man... Without storeman i wonder how they fight war.

I can't prepare for anything because the course is very coursework orientated which involves actually going to the localities to study the area.

I didn't mean it like that I know its important but I didn't come to Singapore to do that sort of stuff I want to do the hard work and hopefully reap the benefits of putting in effort.

If you have just OOCed recently, high chance you will be called back to BMT.

However, that is provided you are of appropriate pes status, and other factors like whether your side need manpower or not, etc.

If you have not gone for any vocational training, there will be a chance that you do not have a 'permanent' vocation yet.

This means if you go back to PES A/B BMT, if you perform well, you may have a chance to go to SCS/OCS.

Again there are many things to factor in la, nothing is 100%. Best is to talk to your commanders, go up chain of command, let everyone in the chain know your concern, maybe they will have a way to help you out.

I have been told I will not down pes so I will stay PES B1.

I havent had the training like a course or anything but they've been explaining to me how a storeman does if that counts?

if the MO didnt downgrade u, but i supposed u will be given MC until you recover, i guess u OOC because ur duration of MC doesnt allow you to complete ur BMT

Whether you get to go to SCS or not it highly depends, and whether your parent unit in RSAF is willing to let go of their manpower, you are now in their estab so ...

OCS is highly out of the question.. a typical officer with 3mth bmt and 9mth ocs will only have 1 year serve to serve as an officer, there is no point in going thru all the shiet to get commissioned and serve for less.

You may want to ask ur direct superior about ur concerns, after the specialist opinion.. but your nearest recourse date is when ur excuse ends and when you have recovered with the MO certifying that you are FFI

being in RSAF means u are already in that formation, all ur emart credits should already been changed to RSAF, so its highly unlikely that they will switch u back to land or navy.

Maybe u shld just get a book to read up on the theroetical aspects of your studies in UK. Google the NUS dept of geography syllabus and see if u can find some useful resources
