Dai ichi takimotokan @ noboribetsu has 1 outdoor onsen pool that overlooks the hell valley (note: Men's pool only), so the view is superb, BUT the pool itself is "commercial" (it's a round man-made swimming pool-type pool) and not at all natural / traditional.can anyone intro / recommendation a good open air like we see in those postcard where we dip ourselves in the onsen surround by natural landscape
There are some ryokans with private onsen but most are not very outdoorsy. They are usually indoors but with one side open to view the landscape.
Do u mind sharing the names of such ryokans
so sad.. i'm not driving while i'm in hokkaido. Do they have those hotspring that cater for couples? i don't think my wife will be comfortable to see naked people in public... thanks for the info though
