No lah, SP WS tariff doesnt depend only on people like us who choose SP WS. It depends on the entire demand for electricity from the whole of Singapore.

People like us who subscribe directly to SP WS are a bit like going directly to the vegetable farm and buying fresh veggies instead of buying from NTUC Fair price. But we are a small fish, it is still NTUC Fair price demand and supply that determines the veggie prices.
True but since OEMs also buying at WS rate then add in consumer going directly for WS as well wouldn't the overall demand increase?

No. We are not increasing the demand, we are only switching from OEM/SP retail to SP Wholesale. That doesn't increase the overall demand. Overall demand increase happens if the OEMs, SP retail and SP WS, combine increase our consumption.

Consumer going directly to SP WS is just a bypassing mechanism, doesnt impact overall demand/supply.

Oh yes! Thanks for clarifying so going to sp ws is like bypassing the middle man.

Given the half hourly price data from National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS) that contains
($/MWh) USEP
($/MWh) AFP
($/MWh) WEP
($/MWh) HLCU
($/MWh) MEUC
($/MWh) EMC Price Cap Fees
($/MWh) EMC Price Adj Fees
($/MWh) PSO Fees
($/MWh HEUR

How do i calculate each of the field in a sample bill like this if I have the half hourly usage data of a house?

And if all the middlemen lose their critical mass that keeps their business viable, we'll all be back under SP?

As long Oem rate is lower than sp retail, middleman business is still viable. Not everyone can afford the risk of WS so fixed rate is better for them - oem like insurance haha

Initially wanted to try out SPWS too due to the attractive rates shared in here for mar-sep. However due to the recent increasing rates (one off maybe?) and based on my lower usage, I suspect I won't benefit much from it to avergaedown the peak & fixed costs.

Signed with Tuas power in the end for fixed rates of 14.9-15.8cents/kWh (after taking into account rebates) based on my usual average monthly usage. Don't have to monitor tariffs anymore, thanks & cya guys in 2 years
