Opinion on CEH cert

I've been working as security analyst nearing 1 year now. I was exploring CEH when my fellow colleague was telling me not to waste $$ on any ec-council certs as there's no demand in Sg.

I was adviced to be patient and go for cissp once i hit my 2nd or 3rd year. I was wondering how true is my colleague?

My workload and hours are relatively stable right now and would hope to value add my resume during these period of 2 months. What other security based cert or skill set would be useful for me?

It's true that many pentesters doing well in Singapore do not have CEH. In fact, a big number of them don't even have CISSP.

There is no need to have 3 years working experience to go for CISSP, despite what has been said. I know of some people who passed their CISSP although they have only just started working not too long ago.
