he Oppo Find N5, the successor to last year's Find N3, was rumored to launch in Q1 2025, meaning anytime between January and March. But, Chinese tipster Smart Pikachu says the foldable will arrive in the first half of 2025, meaning anytime before next July.

The tipster also corroborated previous rumors about the Oppo Find N5 featuring a circular camera module housing three 50MP snappers. Additionally, they said the folding smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, have "enhanced metal texture," and support wireless magnetic charging. It would also be compatible with Apple's ecosystem.

Looks like the Oppo Find N5/Oneplus open 2 is the 1st phone with the nerfed 7 core Snapdragon 8 Elite .... Why one lesser performance core still SD8E.... Confusing lol....

Note: The weibo post have since be removed. So it's either wrong info or NDA, I suspect more of the latter. Because nerfed 7 core Snapdragon 8 Eilte with SKU SM8750-3-AB
does exist and released recently....

The OPPO Find N5 will get a wired charging boost too, as per the latest certification. The phone appeared over at the 3C certification in China. That listing confirmed its wired charging.

The OPPO Find N5 will offer a wired charging boost too, it’ll be faster than on the Find N3

The device will support 80W wired charging, compared to its predecessor’s 67W wired charging. The device appeared under the OPPO PKH120 model number. That was previously believed to be the OPPO Find X8 Mini, but it seems to be the Find N5.

With that being said, OPPO’s executive confirmed yesterday that the device will also support 50W wireless charging. The Find N3 did not offer wireless charging at all, so this is a huge improvement.

OPPO actually managed to shrink down the charging coil in order to keep the phone extremely thin. That device will also become the world’s thinnest foldable, as per OPPO’s CEO. The company already teased its thinness, several times.

This phone will trump the HONOR Magic V3 to become the thinnest foldable around

It will be thinner than the HONOR Magic V3, which currently holds the title of the world’s thinnest book-style foldable. For comparison’s sake, that phone measures 4.35mm when unfolded, and 9.2mm when folded. That goes for its thinnest variant.

The OnePlus Open 2 could actually be the rebranded OPPO Find N5, as the same was the case with the OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3. We also know when will this handset arrive.

The OPPO Find N5 has been confirmed to launch in February. That goes for both Chinese and global variants of the device. We still don’t know the exact date, but at least the launch month has been confirmed.

It’s possible that OPPO is aiming to launch the device at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, it makes sense. We’ll have to wait and see, though. This does look like one of the most exciting foldable phones of 2025, and we’re still at the very beginning of the year.

Actually if you think of it I'd rather they retain the thickness and up the game with their cameras.

or come up with Find N5 Pro for an all rounded device with Find X Series level of cameras while having the normal N5 to achieve the thinness game.

Abit disappointed if they are really using the 7 core version just to achieve the thickness. But will most likely switch back to OPPO from Magic V3.

Oppo Find N5’s new images give glimpse of front display, reduced camera bulge

The Oppo Find N5 is slated to debut in February in China. Official teasers released by the brand have already provided a good idea of what to expect from the N5’s design. Now, a fresh set of images has appeared on Weibo, offering a glimpse of its front display and rear camera module.

The new images showcase the thickness of the Oppo Find N5 in its folded state, which is said to be around 9.2mm. The company is touting it as the world’s slimmest foldable phone.

One of the images shows that the company has significantly reduced the camera bulge on the Find N5. The frosted right-angle middle frame has a pleasant texture. The side view image also reveals an alert slider on the left edge, while the right side features a volume rocker, and a power key integrated with a fingerprint sensor. On the front, it boasts a flat OLED panel.

There are two speakers on the top and bottom for stereo output. A microphone is seen on the bottom alongside the speaker, while the other half on the bottom has a USB-C port and a SIM slot, which is not visible because of the thumb placed on it.

The images of the OPPO Find N5 were leaked by automotive influencer Chen Zhen, who has a massive following of 9.638 million followers. He had previously leaked a video related to the Lynk & Co 900. Zhen was fined 5 million yuan for the leak ahead of the car’s official release. Although he has since deleted the Find N5 images he shared on Weibo, the leak caused a stir online. Some believe the images may have been borrowed from another blogger who had received a test unit under a confidentiality agreement, leading to the accidental leak.

There has been criticism of Zhen’s actions, with some arguing that it violates the confidentiality agreement, and calls for Oppo to enforce penalties as per the signed agreements. Some Weibo users have speculated that the leak could be a strategy to build hype, with suggestions that Oppo may have secretly collaborated with the influencer because of his huge fan base. Reports indicate that Oppo may have provided Zhen with the Find N5 device after the incident. Both Chen Zhen and OPPO have yet to comment on the matter.
