my oppo case with hinge / magnetic cover arrived today, turns out the golden ring behind is not thicker than the standard one. it's just that the coating starts right from the base, which gives it a thicker look.

the spine (hinge, whatever it's called) cover is also slightly thinner, not so thick, compared to the other one I bought from aliexpress.

now idk whether I should paste the front cover frame, or go paste a tgsp first and see if it fits... or just make do with half-naked.

should I go pay hp inspiration a visit to stick a tgsp on the front screen? I suck at pasting myself... which tgsp are y'all using for now? matte or glossy?

I Opened close quite a few time, din see scratches.. touch wood.

More prevalent issue with fold since their paint coating always have issues

is this the official Oppo armaid case with hinge protection that you're talking about? So in your opinion, the aliexpress one is better?

the official oppo one (with hinge protection) is just a touch lighter and accurately 'cut', as compared to the one from aliexpress, although both seems to share the exact same aramid material*. the spine is more flushed with the main case as compared to the aliexpress one, when seen side by side. but these are very minor differences only if you look carefully.

the main difference is that it carries the official oppo logo and the golden ring coating starts right from the base, making it appear thicker. oh, I am also not sure why but the official oppo one did not come with any sticker to stick the case to the phone. not sure if it was accidentally left out, or it's not intended to be. it snaps on perfectly though and does not shake around.

*the aliexpress seller also commented that they are produced from the same source, just that they're not allowed to print the Oppo logo on it.

in my opinion...
official oppo - highest quality, so much so that you don't even need stickers to stick the case to the phone, perfect fit
aliexpress - very high quality, also snaps perfectly (I didn't use the stickers anyway), the ring is less loud (alum in colour instead of golden) and looks thinner, giving it a 'lighter' look.

if got chance I'll share the photos of the two cases side by side later tonight... need another phone camera to take the photos with the cases with the n6 snapped on.

Ah the official oppo case no longer in stock on taobao. Can't find it anywhere. Third party aramid/kevlar cases are pretty more expensive than oppo. 😢

IMO the below should be better even without the OPPO logo. Aramid kevlar carbon fiber case with hinge protector and MagSafe ring
