aside from what others have mentioned about eSIM, using global ROM will be more convenient if you'll be using the phone outside of CN. I've used CN ColorOS and while I like some of things they offer (more granular permissions management, ability to uninstall a lot of the built in apps), it's a bit more of a hassle since for us who use apps outside of CN and installed from Playstore, will need to change settings to make sure they get immediate notifications, and it wont have things like nearby share, android auto, google location history.

with the promo on shopee over the weekend, the price for local set is so close to CN pricing with the same ram/storage config (like ~70 SGD difference only?) that unless you really just want as cheap as possible, it's way more worth to just get local set since we get 2 years warranty here also. so personally, would not consider at all.

But the 11.11 sales promo was too good to miss so I just grab the x8 pro CN set at less than 1k sgd, think the price difference is too big. So far no problems with notifications. And I can live without android auto, esim and Google location history. The 2 year warranty is also pretty useless for me since I've never claimed warranty for any of my previous phones before.

Fierce leh, I like the blue cn set but too big of a risk to forgo 2 years warranty, global rom and eSIM.

Depends on which you value more ba.

Never claim warranty before is 1 thing. But what happens if you need it? It is the same as insurance isn't it? You buy it, but you hope you don't claim it

Actually the shopper seller provide 1 year warranty also but will be more troublesome to claim.

Take it with a pinch of salt

Usually if i buy export i just treat it as no warranty. Firstly, you need to send in to their warehouse, then they will need to ship it back to china to claim, then ship it back to you. Turnover time is 1 month or even more?

Secondly, anything can happen, e.g. finding excuse to deny your warranty claim etc.

Thirdly, if seller no longer around suddenly, how u claim warranty?

Anyways, thats my POV. You might think differently. Nevertheless, since already gotten the phone, just enjoy it.

For me, price of local set is very close to china sets right now especially with the recent BF promotions. Paying like 80 more for 2 year global warranty and esim support with free gifts is a no brainer for me at least, and do not need to deal with issues such as no android auto, wonky work profile issues, etc.

P.S: i come from a neutral POV. Personally played china rom phones before gotten from these sellers like iqoo neo 9 pro, iqoo z9 turbo, redmi k70 ultra

If you buy electronics from overseas is all like that. But the prices there are still more attractive than locally.

And the Black Friday sales here suck as compared to those in the US. Eg. Amazon US.

Definitely. Market is way bigger in china. Personally I'm attracted by the phones exclusive there too. They give you the max they can offer for the price whereas when it comes to global version, all cut to maximize profit....
