X8 Pro supports up to 50W wireless charging. You might want to consider getting a wireless charger to compliment this capability. Most cases should be able to allow wireless charging. Magnetic rings help in accurate positioning and holding the phone in various orientations.

I finally got AA to work on my X8. Turns out, the USB Configuration default was "Charging only". Plugging into the car USB port didn't trigger a prompt to change configuration. The prompt popped up when I plugged it in while playing media over Bluetooth. I changed default to "File transfer / Android Auto" and now it has been working for the 5th straight day. A slightly different behaviour from my previous Pixel and Sony devices is that the phone needs to be unlocked with the cable plugged in the cable for AA to be activated.

For those who has similar problem, hope this info helps ;)
nice tips for those who need AA on older car

u want the best, look for the oneplus AirVooc 50W wireless charger. I also tried looking for wireless chargers, seems like either there's the 15W one or jump to 50W AirVooc

Ya. I took whatever coupon available and pay slightly less than $1080.

Dun really knows how the extra 12Gb ram works. Appears to be available for all FindX8 Pro device by just assessing the extra storage available

ya quite a good deal during 7.7.

the extra ram works by using part of your storage as ram so that you can keep more apps open. but i can't imagine anyone needing 28GB of ram. i have phones on 8gb of ram and runs perfectly fine even today.

I wouldn't reccomend turning it on.

It reserve a portion of the slower on-device storage to be used as a "memory" (something similar to windows pagefile i guess?) and you may encounter slowness or maybe issues when app switching past the 15.X GB mark.

16GB is quite plentiful for a phone and the OS knows what to do for the memory management.

Just my 2 cents.

Anyone knows what are the implications if I use my previous Samsung charger instead of the Oppo charger? Cos I need to place one in my room and one in the living room. It just takes longer to charge for the Samsung charger ya?

To short answer, yes you can, and it will be slower.

As far as I know, Samsung's high-end smart phone chargers are USB-PD compatible, but Oppo added proprietary SuperVOOC to their phones and chargers. Even the type of cables has to be "thick" enough to carry the high current.

I find the vibration motor really weak even after max-ing it out in the settings. Found many similar complaints online as well. Seems like X8U doesn't have this issue. How about you guys'?
I went to a couple of retail stores to test out the vibration strength of X8, X8P and a Reno model. All felt as weak as my X8. Are there some settings because I am missing many notifications of messages, calls etc which I usually don't with my previous phones.

X8, X8P and Reno are using a lower grade, less powerful and smaller vibration motor and many people are complaining in China.
X8U is using a much much better motor.

You can also YouTube those 拆机 videos and reviews... From the haptics motor model you can more or less tell if good or subpar vibration...

no problem.

good price

if these are dealbreakers for you, then maybe not...
- no quick share
- no minus one google home
- no esim (but you can always use something like esim.me on the sim tray 2)

camera is extremely good.

Thanks gurus for the responses. What's your take for 512gb and 1tb storage? Anyone bought from Draped and Stitched on Shopee?
