Looks good man.. which is your main phone now??
my main phone is still Oppo Find N5 as i use it for my tech support work, which is very handy. X9Pro is coz want to try D9500 and the new camera sensors ever since end 2023 coz 2024 phones are 95% reused camera sensors except X200Pro's lyt818 (hence buying the X200Pro blue, speially from taiwan, as well).

Yes. But I heard is not exactly same as china originOS. I also curious to know.
Initial reviews I see they said global rom got touch latency issues.. but when I tested originos latest OTA (also got china customers complain latency issues out of the box).. no more latency liao..hopefully user experience same same...

Here's a breakdown of what i like and dislike on the third day of use.

Love and Like and dislike.

1. Camera - hands down excellent. I am no camera man. i do not really like photography but this phone makes me wanna shoot more pictures. Night shots are great too. No complain, point and shoot without any adjustment cept for Zooming of course. Love the Xpan and Master mode. Camera Zoom button is nice. The hardware camera bump at the back is kind of not use to it but cannot be help it as all are the same. Bumpy when you put with camera phone down. It can wobble slightly if you try pressing top-right corner. But It is neither that bad/horrible. Still acceptable. Lastly, Camera Zoom button is ok but I can hardly able to shoot with this single button pressing because of the magnatic case (freebees). Time for better casing shopping.

2. Battery - Amazing Long lasting. SuperVooc Fast Charging is amazing. Wireless Charging works great too. Only complain is the oppo freebies Magnetic Wireless charger is of the cheapo type at only 5000mha only with lower power. Lucky i have aother 10000mha power brick. Of course, camera app will use to most power but hopefully they can optimize the battery with further OS updates. Gaming, not sure as i don't play mobile game much.

3. ColorOS - The best OS i have ever used. Android 16 has evolved so much since 12. Pretty happy will all the settings. AOD(always-on-display/LockScreenHomeScreen Style Settings are So Fun and look amazing. My primary concern is -- DARK MODE -- as my evesight is getting bad due to age. Here is a few tips and what i did.

3a. Turn on Dark Mode in settings. They have 3 presets, Enhance, Medium, Gentle. I choose Enhance.

3b. Adjust wallpaper to dark mode = ON.

3c. (beta) Dark mode for App. Not yet found any apps that support this feature.

3d. (developer mode) Override force-dark = ON. This is very crutial because many apps does not support dark mode in mobile. There is always a white background in sub-menus, e.g. comments in TikTok app.. You need to turn on developer mode first before you can turn on the force-dark. To do that, goto Settings -> About Device -> Version -> and then tap/click Build Number 7 times -> After entering your lock scren pin/password you will be prompted and informed you are now in developer mode. --> after that, back the setting search and look for "force-dark".

3e. (Optional) Turn on Color Inversion settings. a floating shortcuts. ColorOS forgets to add these into Quick Shortcuts. Hope Oppo will add this in future. At times, certain apps may not work at all with dark mode and you have no choice but to click inverse color in order to turn white background -> black and text is reverse. goto Settings search for "invers" and click. you now in the Accessibiling sub-menu, and turn on Shortcut Accessibility button for the Color inversion. No need to turn on Color inversion now. You now find a very tiny overlay floating shortcut on the home screen you can move around and click on it when necessary.

Thats all folks for DARK MODE feature for people like me.

4. Fingerprint sensor - Wow Amazing, the best i have ever used. It super fast and accurate like flash. Works even with wet finger. Only complain it is position too high up almost close to the canter of the screen. it should be at what most other phone location. need to re-adjust and get used to the new position.

5. Face Recognition - Above Average. Generally working but fails at times. its like 90% chance. Ultimately i disable this as i feel more secure with Fingerprint + Pin/password.

6. Left and Right AI buttons.

6a. AI Capture -- Left button (Snap as what it is called) - MIND SPACE concept is amazing and this works amazing too. Camera shot all your Invoice and Receipts and then SNAP and then Mind Space will OPPO AI with transcript everything organize for you in Collections. I heard in China it will also Calculate all your Expenditure for you with Total and Graphs but i think this have not yet arrived in Singapore and Global.

Run Camera App and then Snap button will also helps transcript and recognize anything the camera see. Example go to NTUC shopping and camera snap Any product item you want to buy and it will transcript . Go to any Singapore famous Building and Snap and ask what it that. Amazing Smart feature!!

pressing SNAP button and hold is to Audio snips recording. Works great too.

Hope you guys can help further test this SNAP and MINDSPACE and OPPO AI feature further and comment.

6b - AI ASK -- Right Button. I have install google gemini hence holding the power button was routed to that Ask Gemimi. Gemini is amazing great already. no complain.

6c. Oh btw The new power off/shutdown is by pressing Up-Volume + Power button!!!

7. AI studio app - you have to play with this. quite fun. I heard it is a bundled exclusive apps.

8. NFC - Google Pay and NFC - Since the Camera kind of blocking. I am so use to freely scan from the TOP/TIP of the back case of the phone. Now I have to Scan at the CENTRE or bottom of the phone and at times the reading might fail if position incorrectly or too far. you might have to be careful when scanning to put it as close as possible. Its kind of need to get use to it.

9. Display -- The 1nit feature is suppose to be a plus point when using at night with lights off but somehow i feel it was a gimmick cause practically setting to 1nit is unusable. you can barely see it. in worst case scenario, in day time, if you accidently turn down to 1nit in brightness and then your phone goes to standby off. You will have a fk time trying to fix the display as you are totally black out and cannot see!!. you have to guess your fingerprint location and swipe down and guess the location where the brightness settings are and turn up! The 1.5k display is a bummer too. Should have 2k resolution which will be sharper. but i gets is a trade off for the longer lasting battery. Same as the 120hz Refresh Rate. it should be 165hz. Its all for the battery saving, it guess.

10. Camera QR-code. -- Amazing Super Fast. GooglePay/FairPrice/HelloRider/hellobike and Anywheel Apps Works so pretty fast!

11. Wifi and internet speed - It feels amazing fast. Faster than many of my previoys outdated phones. > 70% improved.

12. IR Blaster - Works right out of the box for controlling my LG TV. Great!

13. e-Sim - Although i don't use e-sim but it is a good to know that it supports this feature.

14. Speakers - Great but not great. Acceptable quality, Can hear outside. but in super noisy environment, probably cannot hear.

forgive my spelling and English. i am from sg. just wanna give a more roundup review of what i thought. please don't trash or spam me.

(mostly) Happy owner here too. Few comments I have

1. Coming from pixel, didn't realize this phone can only support single active esim - dual sim only for 1 physical and 1 esim.

2. Splash touch is amazing! Can feed my phone addiction while showering

3. Weird issue with chrome where every page load delays by 4s. Not sure if it is just me but I have switched to Firefox

For pt 5, face recognition works super good for me, sometimes too good, i pick up the phone, immediately it unlocks, i never even do the fingerprint scanner or purposely point at my face. maybe you try re-enroll your face again

For pt 9, u already said your eyesight getting bad due to old age and you can tell the difference between 1.5k and 2k meh? 1.5k res is 450 ppi which normal eyes already can't tell the difference in pixel sizes.

Ok. I proberbly give another go on facial recoginition. hopefully it works well again.

Ok. you're right. probernbly its my gut feeling of 2k being higher resolution. and that does not affects quality but rather sizes. I was testing Oppo Find X8 ultra in retail store and always give me the feeling it was clearer and sharper in 2k vs 1.5k. So its just my gut feeling.

Can I check for bank/singpass etc, all can use face recognition? Or need to use finger? Also can mask unlock?

I'm not sure with Oppo, but I'm able to use 2 e-sims with my Pixel 7 pro. Although you can only use 2 sims at a time (1 physical + 1 e-sim, 2 physical or 2 e-sim).
