I just bought a Oppo Neo 5 for my dad @ Oppo Suntec store. I got this problem with whatsapp on this phone - that's whenever the phone is in sleep mode (screen goes black), there are no whatsapp notifications; only when you unlock the phone, the notifications can be heard and seen on the notification bar.

Anyone can help me on this? Thks.

how to lock, im facing the same issue. mostly likely is rom issue. try flashing other rom

that phone is for my dad, so won't want to try flashing other rom since everything else is ok.

right now, the work around way is to enable the whatsapp popup notification loh.

i ask oppo, they too ask me to switch off data saving mode, but it wasn't on in the 1st place. however whatsapp is identified as a trust app under data saving mode, so i also untick it as a trust app.

it works for 1 time, but subsequently the problem persist again. :o
