Actually, The Oppo Reno 2 makes sense for a couple of reasons:
1. It confirms the launch of the Oneplus 7T Pro. Oppo flagship phones usually appear one month before Oneplus flagship phones do, so all it does
Is confirms the upcoming Oneplus phone is going to arrive.
2. It’s going head to head with Huawei’s upcoming Mate 30 Pro. The Oppo Reno 10X Zoom was competing against the Huawei P30 Pro and now the same is going to happen with the Mate 30 Pro.
3. Qualcomm launched their Snapdragon 855+ chipset a 2 months ago (after the Oppo Reno 10X was launched), promising more power through the overclocked GPU (15%) and boosted CPU cores. On top of that, Samsung also launched their 64 Megapixel camera sensor a few months back (which starts production in 2nd Quarter of the year). And Samsung also has been developing not just 5X Optical Zoom, BUT 10X Optical Zoom which was in the works. So the Oppo Reno 20X Zoom will feature all this combined with the world premiere of Samsung’s 10 X Optical Zoom, (allowing for 20X Hybrid Lossless Zoom).
All of this will be in the Oppo Reno 20X Zoom which will be designed to compete against Huawei’s upcoming Mate 30 Pro.
Its going to be an interesting battle soon.

Found out that the 20x zoom is just digital and no periscope zoom so ok it makes some sense so i guess they'll have a Reno2 20x zoom soon lol

Also, the Redmi Note 8 Pro using the 64mp sensor has pretty impressive digital zoom........if it's real

I saw the Oppo Reno 2 at Starhub store today.
The sales person said the handset is retailing at $1199 (256Gb).

The phone looks cool!
So it is the equivalent of coming Huawei mate 30 pro?

Is the Oppo Reno 2 a more advanced phone compared to the present Huawei P30 pro?

I am a Huawei user but because of the ban on the apps, I have decided to switch to other brands.

It's only using a snapdragon 730G so I doubt the performance will be better than the P30 Pro. P30 Pro is still a better phone.

It won’t compete against the Huawei Mate 30 Pro since Huawei kirin 980 (in the P30 Pro) or the upcoming kirin 990 (in the upcoming Mate 30 Pro) will still beat the Snapdragon 730G. The Snapdragon 730G is one of the most powerful mid range chipsets but it still won’t compete against the current flagships.

I'm considering Reno or Reno Z, in the price range.
Anyone can advise which is better?
How's the battery life?

Anyone ever claimed warranty and run into issues?

For $300+, 2 years warranty phone, AMOLED, NFC, like quite good deal.
No idea on the camera though.

If only have a card slot :o

Reno 2 is $899, Reno 2z $599. Pre order will get their wireless earbuds.

Think I'll get the Reno Telco set.
