I ord 5 years ago never got called back to ICT.
I recently received a mob manning amber alert. In ns portal I’m told my unit is hq 1sib. My mob Manning period starts today but I still don’t know what to bring, where to report or any code name etc. I called ns sg they say they also don’t have the contact of my unit.
1) can someone explain what is amber alert mob manning?
2) is it true I will be notified by the IC a few days before activation?
3) what is the chances of getting called up?
4) will I be notified of the item list days before the activation or is it on the day?
5) does this mean my ict will start soon?
it is weird to hear that only today you are asking all these questions given that today is the START of your manning. Whereby the manning notification was already issued 6months before plus with your acknowledgement.
1 - whether amber or not, u still is required to standby with your gears ready
2 - No. activation is only decided by mindef on the actual day itself, probably those key personnels would be notifed N-2. So unless u are one of the key personnel (which u are clearly not given on the information u have), u will only get the activation notice via phone or television/radio broadcast.
3 - chances 50-50... this is the same for all manning
4 - u should had already contacted your unit via NS hotline to obtain the kit list including codeword(s), as u are expected to be ready upon activation
5 - clearly, the answer is NO.
