quite a lot of people receive letter, not sure if the letter signifies that it is confirm activation

mine also east siah, lucky no range inside that camp

Yup, letter has some contact number/packing list. I think they have to send to me since this is my second ops manning (1st one was not activated)

I have not been to this camp before, but I am sure it has no range since its so tiny.

Nope. Mine period is 24 sep - 8 oct

Hope we all dun get called back these few weeks ;)

Btw does the nature of your unit matter for ops manning?

I am quite curious if reservist-only units ever get mobilized* or if it's only the active ones.

*I was told by a reservist-only unit CO that ops mobilization will only occur in the case of a serious national emergency/ impending threat/war.

Active units only mobilized in their own camp. I remember doing it during my NS days.

For these kind of mobilization, they just want to make sure that everyone knows what to do if they are really activated. Can already see 1 or 2 bro here don't know what to do or which camp to go.

Tks bro! Only trouble is no cars allowed in camp.. leaving the place will be a pain

some camps when activate, to prevent parking problems and traffic issues, they got free ferry bus from nearest mrt.

because when its activated, definately got traffic and parking problems around the camp area:D

mindef has to minimise that as residents sure shoot complain letter when their peaceful day is disrupted

if first manning no letter or whatsoever and this time round u receive such mail notification, chances of activation is higher as they want to minimise co(k ups

i think its up to mindef to decide when to press the button. its a test of men's responsiveness and readiness
