I have a question about Ord'ing. What do I do with all my items like helmet and ILBV after I ORD? Can I take them overseas with me to the UK whilst I'm staying there? Uniform as well?

Correct after NS going back to UK for Uni and well I don't have a house or anything here so must take everything back with me.

Was thinking Uniform should be okay but like you said the Helmet may be a problem and the ILBV (dont have the metal plate)

I see... in that case try to contact your unit see if it's allowed to take the helmet and ILBV? If not then they will probably have to keep it for u while u are overseas and hand it over to u when u come back to Singapore. :o

Sorry hor, now MFU is also smart. They used to reply via email and must've kena a lot of "here's the proof" so now they call you on the phone instead, so when the sh*t hits the roof there is no black and white.

Still can. Nowadays most smart phones can install apps to record phone calls.

TS should also check with the UK Govt about bringing these items into the country, you might end up having problems at the customs inspection (SG and UK).

Some countries do not allow military equipment to be brought in.

Also, bringing these items halfway across the world doesn't make much sense - it just eats into your baggage weight limit.

Any relatives here that can store them for you while you are away?

Not admissible as evidence, but it will still be very strong evidence for the court of public opinion. I dun think Mindef will want to court unnecessary public scrutiny. :s22:

You'd probably be sued first for not informing the other party that you are recording them.

This is the reason why some hotels actually have a voice recording informing you BEFORE the phone conversation that your call MAY be recorded for audit or training purpose.

You should check with SG customs as well.

But then again, someone in the Lavender Road HQ will say one thing, the customs agents at Changi will do something else.

As usual.

Worst alternative is that you'll have to rent one of those small storage cabinets to keep your stuff over here.

Have fun dealing with Government agencies.

Then a storage locker would be better. There is one located near Changi, more convenient when you arrive back in Singapore.

today you worry about bring it overseas, next time you will worry you can bring it back again or not.

storage locker is a better choice provided its affordable enough.
