Recently, I have 3 Amazon orders delivered by iparcel submitted to MDA for classification and certification. This has never happened before. Right now I only received a fraction of my orders and the others are MIA. Anyone experienced this?

Think I must avoid iparcel from now.

There is a topic about this here:

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drink-man-woman-16/amazon-shipping-via-iparcel-didnt-arrive-delayed-4498088.html

Current situation is, yes - all DVDs/BlyRays are now redirected to MDA for classification.

So all those 'hazadous' titles (ie R21 type), will get binned by MDA.

It looks like it takes quite a while for MDA to go through them, some delays are already more than 2 months.

Not sure if it is only affecting i(lost your)parcel.

Any package with DVD/BluRay in the description label may get redirected to MDA.

Well, my parcel is labelled as "Music CDs". They took some of my harmless titles to "classify".

Yeah, Amazon seems to have issues when labeling DVDs/BluRays. Not sure if it is deliberate just to skirt restrictions.

Pretty hard to find obscure titles locally.

Our market is so small, and most viewers are downloading illegally.

The self import declaration requirement has been around for a while, just that no one bothered to do it.

Now MDA happy charge $1.80 per title to certify.

Think MDA may be indirectly promoting illegal downloading if they continue to impose such strict restrictions. And considering SG is such a metropolitan society.

You used Amazon's direct shipping to Singapore? Or through a forwarder (comgateway/borderlinx.etc) ?

I used Amazon's free shipping which is handled by iparcel. My orders have been stuck in limbo for 3 weeks in MDA or some local warehouse waiting to be certified, among them harmless titles like the 80s series Knight Rider and cartoons like One Piece and How To Train a Your Dragon TV series.

My recent order from iparcel came through. Seems like the checking is random. But I will still be avoiding iparcel even if I have to pay more for shipping due to the delays and distress it has caused me.

Yes, R21 movies on DVD cannot be owned.

Only workaround is to download them instead, fully uncut.

I still haven't received all titles sent over to MDA for classification. Already more than 1 month after arriving in Sg. I've now learned to use the more expensive shipping method and did not face the problem and distress again.
