hi all,
An advance thank you for helping...
i will reach kansai airport on the 26th late evening.high probability i will overnight there till next morning train to town.
1st day- osaka only(osaka castle/shinsekai market & tsutenkaku tower/Umeda tower and evening @ dotonburi)
2nd day osaka to kyoto(Arashiyama/fushimi inari/nishiki market/nijo castle)
3rd day osaka to nara(todaiji temple/deer park/higashimuki shopping street)
4th day osaka and late afternoon back to kansai for my trip back.

My question:
1. base on my travel itineraries, should i buy a tourist pass(eg: kansai thru pass) or should i use the haruka + icoca better?

Thanks!

Depends on where you stay, maybe a ICOCA is enough for your regular commune. Kyoto you can just get a 1 day pass at 500yen for bus rides that is more than 3 times.

There are limousine buses available as well, can check the schedule.

My regular hotel is the Sheraton Miyako Osaka, direct limousine bus from KIX.

I did roughly the same attractions on day 2. On a bus, it will take significantly longer due to the travel time. Can start from Kyoto Station to Fushimi Inari. Then back to station again for ride to Arashimaya. From Arashimaya, you can catch a bus to Nijio Castle (I went to imperial palace). After that, can either walk or catch a short ride to Nishiki Market.

You can also add an evening walk around Kiyomizu Deraor Gion because there will be evening light up at the temples.

Depends on you really, if you are target oriented, you can do it in a day when you start early. If you are casual and impromptu about it then maybe you wont have enough time. But since you dont mind missing one or two then you wont mind also I guess.

do take note of the kyoto bus timing. 1h intervals.

its better to take train cos more frequent intervals. or even take a cab for short distance.
