If you want a birds eye view of the city, Harukas 300 is a nice place to chill. Tallest building in Japan.

If you go late afternoon/early evening you can get day, sunset and night views. Take note of what time sunset is at this time of the year though.

If you want to try onsen, the more family friendly ones in Osaka are spa world (near to shinsekai/tennoji zoo) or the newer solaniwa onsen (more pricey) at bentencho station

Day 2, since u are going to Osaka castle, you might want to drop by Kyobashi station for Endo sushi (inside Keihan kyobashi mall). should be 5th floor

If you're into castles, can visit Himeji instead and visit Kobe on the way back. Osaka castle can skip actually. Not keen on Kyoto? Might worth a day or two there.

I thought since first time there , I skipped Kyoto first as I think 1 day a bit rush to really explore Kyoto.

Probably return again and spend 2 or 3 days there the next trip

That's good. Not many here think like you for their first trip. If you're not including USJ, Himeji, Kobe or the aquarium, it might still be worthwhile to go there for a day, at least to Arashiyama. If you're into temples and shrines than you realize, you can devote more days there in the future.

Can someone tell me why need to stop at tambabashi station and walk 1 min and train at tambabashi station again. Is it switch train ? E.g. Bedok to Tanah Merah then alight then Tanah Merah to airport

You should be right, stop at same platform to take different train. But you might want to search if there are other timings that don't require stopping.

The first train is limited express, skips alot of stations in between, if take direct 1, might take longer time as it stops at more stations along the way.

a lot of people enjoy the cup noodle museum

can consider also la

namba area is one large shopping center area
maybe dedicate half a day there for your wife
make her happy confirm

since you going with son, can spend some time at aquarium like what the other bro here suggest
zoo also can, although not the best la

dotonbori is nicest at night, but packed with prc
so take care especially with young one
a lot of people take photo of the glico sign, and also the don quixote structure
