I think ur 7-days JR pass is not going to be worth it. u are using it mainly to cover kanazawa to yudanaka (6910yen), and yukanaka to ueno (7790yen). the total of these 2 trips is way less than the cost of the JR pass, 29110yen.

not too sure about this, but if I am not wrong, for ta-q-bin, it is usually overnight service and the collection is in the morning. so if u send in ur luggage at night, is it only collected the next morning and will be delivered the day after.

OP also never make good use of the Takayama-Hokuriku pass. It cost 10,500 JPY and the itinerary is basically just one direct trip to Takayama from Osaka. The direct fare is only 9,200 JPY. Why buy the pass?

Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass (5 Days) = Adult Yen 10,500
This pass mainly cover trip from
Shin-Osaka to Kyoto
Shin-Osaka to Kanazawa
Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go via Bohi bus
Shirakawa-go to Takayama via Bohi bus

As for JR 7 Days (Adult - Yen29,110) which will be used during stay in Tokyo area and back to Airport.

I'm confuse on Japan train system but think she done her homework to check the best option so no question asked. hehe ;););)

The reason we delivery the luggage because we don't go straight to Hotel check in the next day.
In day 2 we go visit Nara and shopping and check in Hotel at night.

Think East pass does not cover more than 5 days... :o

train rides within tokyo city is relatively cheap and will not be worth it to use 7-day JR pass to cover the rides. JR pass are used mainly for expensive shinkansen and ltd express trains. even with the trip to airport and to and from kawagoe, it is still not close to the cost of the pass. u can consider getting metro pass for the tokyo part of the trip, or just pay for single trip tickets

i agree with you. would rather get JR east pass to cover some of the further places and then using suica card to travel within city loop

We're confuse and not really sure over what is the "right" pass to purchase.
Think different between 7 days pass and 5 days east pass about $40 for 1 pass. :)

Day 7(1) 4430 Kanazawa-Nagano
Day 8(2) N.A.
Day 9(3) Nagano-Ueno 4000+ city tour 800
Day 10(4) Tokyo city/Disney about 1500
Day 11(5) Tokyo-Kawagoe-Tokyo 920x2=1840
Day 12(6) Tokyo city(Tsukiji-Shinjuku) about 1000
Day 13 (7) Tokyo city(Shinjuku/Harajuku) about 1000+ UENO to Narita via NEX(3180)

Total JR spent is around 17.5k vs the JR pass 29.1k. Its really not worth the money spent. Even the JR east Pass also not worth. Your case is best served by the local city passes or simply get the IC cards like SUICA or ICOCA.

I may missed out anything, for your reference only.
