Hi guys,

I will be traveling around Osaka in first two weeks of January.

My departure flight is pretty earlier (9 30am, so need to reach Kansai airport at 7 30am). I plan to take first train from Tennoji at 5 30am.

Wanted to check if there are experiences whereby the train in Osaka freezes/stop working due to snow or track freeze?

I though of moving closer to the airport the night before but I will lose out the night as I will need to shift hotel.

Another option is the first bus (also 530AM) from the Abeno Harukas stop opposite the Tennoji JR station. It's not faster but depending on your luggage situation or originating hotel it might be less hassle. I took the morning bus just a few days ago.

There's also direct to airport limousine buses, you should check if there's any near your area.

if there is any delay due to bad weather... it is always the JR trains that delay the longest and most frequently. I am not sure if this is due to their track configuration or service standards but i always find the other rail companies will run their trains longer and with greater frequency in spite of increment weather conditions...

Tennouji can take nankai rail... probably will run with greater freq than JR...
