can i use a edge to edge glass protector with otterbox defender case if i pluck out the plastic ones ?

i did that on my ipad2 and ipad mini retina --I was having touch screen problems when the plastic one is in place.

what i meant was i will take out the plastic and put on a tempered glass protector which is edge to edge with iphone 6
