The location part is bullsh|t one.. previously contact tracing uses location because they dunno who this person has been in contact with, so need to know where he has been.. but of the contact tracing API and logic is sound, only those real close contacts will be recorded.. location is no longer necessary and doesn't value add..

Location is collected for the govt to track where u go..
