overclock + CPU fan

Hi bros, I thinking of overclock my MSI HD 7870 TF. with my spec (listed below) issit worth to overclock? and which shops in SLS is the best place to shop for casing fan (i guess extra cooling is require for overclock GPU)? currently do not have any brands of fan that I really want..so going down to have a look.

Spec
Asus P8z77-v pro intel i5-3570
g-skill 2x 4gb
MSI 2gb R7870 TF DDR5
seasonic M12II 620W80+

In fact MSI signature twin froze coolers are very good at keeping the GPU temps cool le. Additional fans will improve air flow in casing though. What casing are you using anyway?

I think my GPU is the reference one. and i using centurion 6.
dare not try overclock till i get the temp ready

if your games/applications are running ok, no need to overclock. lower temps/longer gpu life

true, but i can't set high setting for diablo 3 even with my current card...this is abnormal?

Nope..this my one is not TFIII...my gpu box is the afterburner pic..not the gpu itself..=p

wat i mean by cannot play at high setting mean not smooth at all. when ppl joined my game, my game become laggy for a while.and when there alot mobs, the game lag..

Reference GPU or not, extra case fans or not, still can overclock as long as temperatures are okay (even 80⁰C is totally okay) and you can live with the noise from the fans.

Question is why is a 7870 unable to run high settings in diablo as mentioned?

okie..so now i know wat wrong...my graphic card is the problem here. when i do furmark, the temp go up to 102 deg in just 2min. so maybe that why i can't play D3 at max setting.

Hey, I think its your GPu's fan setting. I`m using the version before yours and running D3 at max settings without O/C without any problems.

My gpu setting is set to follow the graph which at 80 deg, it is to run at 100%

Just ended my mini-nightmare. The problem lies with my GPU which i quite glad that PCT willing to do a 1-for-1 exchange with me even after the 7 days. Now my GPU stay well below 90deg. Ran the Furmark and it max at 74deg!! weee!
