i never overclock before but intend to do so for i5-6600k for my lightroom application.

i intend to overclock to about 4.2ghz.

can buy i5-6500 to overclock? I intend to buy z107 asrock extreme 4

when mention software overclock, does that mean i can overclock as and when i need in window mode instead under bios?

does that mean the speed for all 4 core is 4.2ghz at the time?

what is the suitable ddr4 ram speed i need, 2133 can (lol cheapest)? any reliable brand for overclocking?

TIA

1. 6500 cannot overclock...

2. 'Software overclock' usually adds a lot of unnecessary voltage; that overclock and be achieved with lower vcore

3. ram overclock wont see impressive benefits..

if you consider the cost of cooler, z170 mobo , capable psu ...... it's not that far away from non-overclock i7 + cheapo motherboard
