Searched around and there doesn't seem to be a thread for the above topic.

Generally from experience, when I exchange money at the money changer of my destination, the rates are better than Sg's money changer. Even if it's at the foreign airport!

Would appreciate if people can share their experience with the forex rates of overseas ATM withdrawal :D

From what I see, people are suggesting that we go ATM withdraw money everyday for daily expenses so we won't have to carry so much cash on us.

Since daily expenses wont be too large, I think the fix fee will really make us lugi :s13::(

Anyway for those who depend on ATM card, can you imagine if you lose your card?:eek:

Horrible rate. That time the money changer rate around 3.

I dunno, I've found the opposite - the rates at the Raffles Place moneychangers are unbelievably good.

ATMs are typically pretty good overseas; one pro tip I've found is that if you're in Heathrow T5, the Travelex ATMs are 1000 or 1500 pips better than the Travelex kiosks right next to them.

How do they achieve that?

Actually when we go to the ATM, does the machine display the FX rate first, so we can decide whether we want to proceed or not?
