Overseas degree vs Local degree

Hi guys, looking for some advice here. I am 23 this year and just ORDed in May. I have a Diploma in an IT related course from NYP (GPA 3.2). Decided to pursue Social work and applied to SUSS(FT) and got rejected. Now I am considering between
a) Applying for a part-time degree in SUSS and working full-time (4yrs)
b) Pursuing a degree overseas (3-4yrs)
c) Apply for SUSS full-time next year (5yrs including gap)

Here's the issue:
a) seems like a good choice to me but I have been applying for jobs related to social work and so far have not gotten any replies.
b)It's quite costly to study overseas and if I'm applying for entry this year I have limited choices as most schools deadlines are closed alr.
c)Highly unlikely as its gonna be a really long time and worried if I get rejected again.

Can anybody with a similar experience share with me how you made your choices?

Aus so Expensive meh? My cousin studying there now estimated about 200k++ for 4 years.

Social Work Assistant required one to have Diploma while Social Worker required one to have Degree in Social Work. You are no where near them for job opportunity in Social Work since you do not have relevant qualification.

Social Worker wages are lower compare to their peers who are working in other occupations in both public and private sector. A lot of overtime at night during weekdays and may needs to work weekend too.

So it does not worth to get a degree overseas. I advice you to work full time while applying for SUSS full-time next year. At least you don't waste time if you did not get into SUSS full time. When you work full time, you may even feel that social work may not be for you. If you still feel social work is for you at that time, at least you can apply SUSS part time with salary to support your part time studies.

Social Work degree. I was planning on taking a bank loan and apply for local and overseas scholarships after the first term results.

Scholarship after 1 term result do they have such award?
If you fail to get award fall back is loan? Have u seen the loan requirement? Your family meet the requirements? Have u spoken to family about loan?

Agreed. I have applied for jobs in the social service industry that requires just an O lvl because I want to experience what the industry is like for social workers. The pay is slightly <2K but I think for the experience I'll be getting it is alright.

I understand that the pay is relatively lower and for me personally, I have a passion in helping others so I do not mind the lower pay but I forgot to account for that considering pursuing an overseas education. Thanks for the reminder.

Hmm about Full time.. I feel like I'm currently lagging behind as I was from NA in secondary school and went to poly. Compared to some of my peers who went Express and then JC.

Don't worry about the interview. It's nowhere as hard as the full time ones. It was more of a briefing and what to expect if you enter the course.

best in terms on interest rate. Parents can help but note you may not get the max amount. All depends on how much U intend to loan. As ppl here had mention consider the ROI, if u need to loan small amount say 50k, great. however if U intend to max out 150K; your parents need a monthly combine income of 15k. if not you will be looking at talking multiple loans.

Hi there, what course are you studying at in SUSS? :O Didn't know there was interview for part-time too.

HR. HR is one of the course tat got full time equivalent.. but now pt courses that has ft equivalent right,suss aligned both of them already.do same project question, exam paper etc. pt student take the exam paper set by ft lecturer
