Just to share:

Recently, I had attended my 6th ICT in Thailand for 2 weeks. Currently, the Make-Up-Pay system computes Make Up Pay = your loss of civilian income - Service Pay

Reimbursement = Service Pay + MUP (based on working days)

Weekends are all used for training, in which we (NSMen) are not paid by SAF. It is not alot but don’t you think it is a flaw in the MUP and service pay system?

only mon to fri can claim MUP....

if you need to serve ICT over weekend, ie sat and sun, for these 2 days, you are only pay rank pay...

let say you are CPL rank, and during your NSF days, your allowance is $600, so for your sat and sun ICT in thailand, you are paid about $27/day for rank pay only!!!

I also kanna this last year ICT in thailand, burn 2 x weekend or 4days

is got la!!!!

but the equation is still flaw leh. (You see the calculation)

Although got rank pay during the weekend, it is used to net off

Loss of Civillian Pay (You work 5 days a week) = MUP + Rank Pay (You burn ur weekends)

We deployed outfield one night fewer than Frame 1 and Mission 2 was cancelled prematurely shortly after midnight.

You are right. They will first calculate the service pay including Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. This is the minimum they will pay. In fact, this will be what they will be paying someone who is not claiming anything or is unemployed. But for most of us, the service pay is irrelevant since what we would have lost would be larger. We would be getting what we would have lost as total compensation so that net net we would not have lost or gained anything, as compared to if we had not attended the ICT. That means no compensation for Saturday, Sunday and public holidays while on overseas ICT since these are seen as personal time sacrifices.

By the way we spent Deepavali in the field. Was really tempted to light it up.

Hope the weather there was kind to you. :vijayadmin:

This Overseas ICT pay thingy is flawed. Feedbacked - and NS portal only says SAF gives tax incentives for NSMEN etc. The point is since we are not paid on Weekends => Why do we have training on weekends? :o

No bro, cant look that way. the service pay is used to supplement ur actual loss of income already. Just take a look at the illustration.

For those times you spend within one weekend (no working days involved), they cannot not pay you anything and therefore you get service pay.
