Overweight while buying insurance

Trying to buy a term/life insurance for my husband. However, he is a bit overweight with height 178cm, weight 85kg, BMI 26.8. He has no medical conditions. Will this affect his application or premium at all? What is the BMI range for him to get the standard insurance rates?

dont think BMI used to determine medical condition for insurance purpose, unless grossly over

It should be fine and will get standard rates.

It varies from insurer to insurer on their in-house risk assessment of their potential client. If deem to be of higher risks, the premiums will be higher. Some people get rejected - some of my heavyweight friends were rejected

26.8 is fine.

Based on AXA's underwriting, as long as one is between BMI 16 - 30, he/she is fine.
