And ultimately I wouldnt trust cimb... that time my credit card application was handled by them. Extremely unprofessional. Just told the sales guy to scrap my application.

and just to mention if it helps......... their hotline is not 24 hours.

Honestly in such low interest rates environment yield is much more important than customer service. I think you have yet to hear of anyone having a CIMB account because they are not high net worth individuals, all my colleagues who are cash rich (>$500K) have a starsavers to ride on the 0.9% interest with no lock in. Yes its 0.9%, because they are the pionners who supported the retail bank when they first launched in Singapore.

Even myself 99% of my liquid cash are held in CIMB.

+1. Personally I have seen someone bank in a whole stack of $1000 notes at CIMB.

Currently, I have 2 fast saver account (50K each) and 1 star saver account (20k).

Is that safe? Or an over exposure to cimb?

it depends if yours is individual/ joint account... deposit insurance is at 50K based on per IC and not per account, you may like to verify further with the bank and SDIC on this

If you worry then try to limit 50K per bank as per SDIC coverage.

One of the highest savings/current account in Singapore. If you deposit less than $50k you are fully covered by SG's deposit insurance scheme. How much safer could you get?

Going to deposit 500k to get their 1.8% interest in fixed deposit. Is it safe enough to do so? Will the bank run road in less than a years time?
I would not recommend that. You can buy the Singapore government’s 12 month t-bill at auction later this month (July, 2018, issue code BY18102F). It should yield right around 1.8%. A noncompetitive bid will surely get filled (they haven’t been oversubscribing), you can buy as much as you like really (millions of dollars if you wish), and it’s backed by the full faith and credit of the government — no deposit limit concerns.
