Just converted my license to SG Driving license... I was given a pink slip said that I m under probation for 12 mths with 12 points.
but from i see from ( http://driving-in-singapore.spf.gov.sg/services/driving_in_singapore/information_dips_about.htm )

Displaying distinguishing mark on vehicle during probation period

You are required to display the distinguishing mark on your vehicle if the issue date of your foreign driving licence is less than 1 year before the date of your application for conversion. You may stop displaying it after your 1 year probation period from the date of issue of your Singapore driving licence.

so I m in probation but I do not need to display the mark ? ( my foreign license was obtained in 2004 )

The pink slip overrides all other information on the website, because the pink slip is specific to your conversion case whilst the website is only a general guideline.

So yes, you need to display a P-Plate for 1 year.

You can always try your luck against the system for not displaying your triangle =:p

For holder of foreign driving license that was issued more than 12 months before the SG conversion date, not required to display the Probation Triangle.

1) this is consistent with official TP website statement (posted above)

2) this is confirmed by the TP officer on the phone even repeated clearly to me (I guess I was just being a paranoid) that yes, it follows your foreign driving license issue date and since more than 12 months not required to display.

Hope this clears the air but if you're still uncomfortable, go ahead and call TP (65470000), no harm done really but peace of mind.

Regards,
Dino
