Hi guys, I am considering buying a new phone but can't decide between the Huawei P30, Mate 20 or Honor View 20.

Price-wise Mate 20 (~$650) and View 20 (~$699) is cheaper than the P30 (~$850). I've gathered these prices from shops like Red White Mobile, Mobilesquare, etc.

I'm not all that into mobile gaming (though I enjoy it occassionally) and all 3 phones seem to share the same chipset so I'm not really concerned about it. I am mainly looking at their cameras and which is more worth to get (obviously the P30 will be better, but I'm not sure if I can justify the extra $200), as well as the ease of use, like how easy it is to hold the phones.

While both Mate 20 and View 20 has audio jacks, being placed at the top is kind of a turn off. But at least there's an audio jack.

The camera on P30 seems to jut out quite a bit, which I feel will annoy me plenty.

I would like to hear your opinions regarding these 3 phones. Thank you!

FWIW, I considered the Mate 20 Pro too cause price wise it's slightly more expensive than the P30 and there's no audio jack. But now I'm thinking maybe I'm overrating audio jacks.

I'll take Mate 20, not because I have 1, but because its cheaper and uses the same SoC. It also has nano memory slot which the View 20 lack. P30 Pro is still too expensive right now. If the $699 price for view 20 is 8/256, get that. Otherwise its better to get the Mate 20.

I'm considering the P30 non-pro. Is ~$850 stil too ex for telco sets?

I kind of want a good camera since all my previous phone cameras are kind of bad. Is the Honor series not good? Like in terms of service, availability of accessories, etc. The specs of View 20 looks pretty comparable to ~$800-900 phones but I'm not sure why it's cheaper at $699 RRP.

Honor series bear no Leica, probably won't use technology developed jointly with Leica, if camera important and budget allows, of course p30 is the choice as p30 ryyb sensor is the newest Sony generation available in the market

I see. Now I just need to decide if I'm willing to fork out the extra $200. Thanks for your help!

IMO, the lenses on these phones are so small they don't make much of a difference. The key thing is the camera sensor and the ones in the p and mate series are made by Sony. That's what you should be looking out for.
