Page loading delays, missing scroll bar, blank/white screen problems - Solved

Using opera as browser on oppo phone. After I click a thread, it doesn't load immediately. It just shows a white screen for some time.

no problem with using chrome on the same phone.

Because opera has inbuilt adblock, which causes the white screen delay.

For those who are slow but using Chrome. I offer you my site settings with regards to the forum.

Basically the only two allowed are Images, Javascript. I turn off basically the rest of the site settings. Loading is alright on my end.

Alternate to Chrome would be Firefox, Vivaldi.

For handphone, you can try Via browser.
Most Android phone has refresh issue as the process are hijacked by other apps. You can use Android Assistant much like task manager to kill off or Force Close the rest of apps. This way, once you click the browser app, it will load and response according to your phone SIM connection / Wireless connection speed.

Same problem. I’m not gonna whitelist HWZ on my PC adblocker. Will just use my iPad to surf, though probably only when there is hot news or saga like Tanjong Pagar or Ler Lim.

1 of the forumers pointed out correctly about the ad blocker in opera. Once i switched it off, it works ok now.

To recap, all of the problems listed in the thread title are related to ad blockers being used - either through your own add-ons or those built-in to the browser directly.

Other 'smart' solutions are offered by other members, and I'll leave them intact, for now.

The alert that put xxx replied to the thread abcd .... The thread not very obvious, can bold or underscore or what? Don't know where to click sometimes
