You got the Palit because of the lower price, simple as that.

Willing buyer and seller on the terms of the sale, convergent did not force you to buy.

Now buy already see everyone want refund this and that, want convergent bend over backwards. Question is, what right or indeed entitlement do you have to demand what you are asking?

If you are not demanding anything and are happy with your purchase, why post you should have gone for another brand? Why post you are losing faith? So even if distro do something you also won't accept right? If you are not happy about something, it implies you want something other than what you already have.

Also mind sharing why you went for Palit then?

You are wrong. I am not demanding anything but that doesnt mean i am happy with my purchase. This promotion starts on 20th Nov so i have no right to be demanding anything (that is why i aint doing so). Part of the reason i said i have lost faith was to reiterate a recent screwed up incident by them.

As for why i went Palit, i have mentioned that i was looking for a "blower style" GTX 970 in another thread.

Oh then my bad. Your post made it seem you were unhappy with missing out on the promo. You can understand how irritating to see people whining and carping on missing out the promo, and asking for a refund right?

Distro is bound by terms of the manufacturer, promo only starts 20 nov, what do these people expect the distro to do? Conjure up a game code for them? Buy extra codes for them?

This sense of misguided self entitlement is really sickening. Spoilt by parents syndrome.

Steam codes can be generated for free right? Oh wait.....this is Ubisoft and Uplay...I rather pay them to keep the games.

Wait for May/June better, maybe get Arkham Knight promo instead. Anyway not like you're missing much, 2 out of the 3 games is a stuttering mess and the third one will probably be the same too...meh.

Hi, Michael here.

We didn't say anything before today about the promotion, because we were under a stupid nondisclosure agreement, means, I can't talk about the promo to anyone out of the company otherwise they will sue my ass. This is dumb, considering that nVidia broke their own NDA by announcing the deal in other regions.

So I'm sorry we couldn't post anything publicly about this issue before today.

Now that the NDA is over, and if you bother to read a wall of text, read on. If not bother, here is the TL;DR:

Before 20th there is Phantasy Online bundle only. After 20th there is the Pick Your Path bundle. For users who got the Pick Your Path bundle before today, more power to you, lucky dudes. For users who didn't, you got what you supposed to get along with all those dudes who bought non-Palit cards at a higher price. You saved your good luck for another bigger thing in the future.

The long version:

One year back, Palit beat Asus, MSI, Giga for being the biggest nVidia graphics card vendor in the world. It didn't seem to mean anything to anybody out of Palit, but the effects were:

1) They always got nVidia promos first
2) They always got first engineering support from nVidia
3) Their economies of scale increased, letting them have huge graphics card engineering teams which came out with non-reference designs first. This same economies of scale also enabled them to price
4) They had best manufacturing equipment optimized for graphics card form factor, not motherboards. This affects RMA - best equipment means best reliability.
5) Selling fast means you get fresh stock not 6 months old inventory for Palit.

Palit cards sold very well and they ran out of stock of the Phantasy bundle cards. So they started shipping the `pick your path' bundle to distributors while some other card manufacturers still had the old card inventory. So we got those `pick your path' cards in our warehouse before we even realised it.

Our warehouse guys picked and shipped the `pick your path' bundle cards through some channels including Lazada and some SLS shops. When we found out we stopped it but some were shipped. Those are you guys who got the `pick your path' cards, so keep your bundle.

Can we give some guys who got `no bundle' or `phantasy bundle' some of the `pick your path' licenses? I don't know. But we put maximum effort to ask from nVidia. This is not Palit - Palit has no extra license, it gotta come from nVidia. Possibility is slim but we will inform you if OK.

In the meantime, my humble request, don't fight laa... keep this a happy thread. We understand disappointment but hey, you got the Palit card at very good price courtesy of Lazada and Mastercard, and be assured that you got the best, most reliable 970 on the market guaranteed.

Also had no idea that this will also affect the quality and reliability of palit. Thanks for sharing!
