If you like a bit of grind it's not bad, and quite fun to fight or ride around with pals, and to build a good pal team. It has enough content for a good 100 hours or so, where most of it is the grind to collect pals and resources and to level up to eventually beat all the bosses.

If you don't enjoy the time investment grinding resources for crafting and base building, it may come as a chore.
