Anyone has this?

I'm thinking of letting my Canon DSLR system go to get onto the mirrorless bandwagon.

And no, i still prefer to use my camcorders for video work. Its just that the US$1699 price point body only, for 4k video is oh so tempting...

I heard from a friend who is just finishing up his latest web series shot on the GH4 that the workflow isn't much different from the GH3, even in 4K, and it has at least one more stop of dynamic range. i've seen some screens of the Cine-D colour profile and it looks great even ungraded!

Time to check out rigs to see if i can improve the ergonimics. I'm a stickler for handheld cradle shooting...

Hahaha...since you have a Canon DSLR already, there isn't much difference in the support and rigging lah. and i'm not sure you should sell your camcorder, if that's what you prefer using more. even with the YAGH attachment I don't think the GH4 holds a candle to a bonafide camcorder when it comes to in-camera recording. but image quality wise... no fight la....

there's a reason why lots of pros in the west are selling off their Canon systems for the GH4.

I have been using a Canon DSLR EOS40D with 17-55mm F2.8IS for backup photog work when the photo cannot make it

I use the AG-AC90 as my main.
I was eying the GH4 as a Cheapo 4k camcorder due to the quality of the optics as competing 4k solutions, cost alot more. But i am worried about the form factor. I was thinking of just dumping the canon to switch to the Panasonic system, where it can do some video work when you are doing still work.

However, i am against the notion of replacing the camcorder with a DSLM. it simply feels weird...

Hahaha.. use whatever you feel comfortable with and will give you the best quality for the work you do lah..

I shoot a lot of narrative work so the ability to change lenses and the sensor size is quite important for me. also the small form factor means I travel much lighter when I need to bring out the slider and crane.
