SDP is improving but insufficient for this election. They need to improve on the local constituency planning, not just for the sake of having a voice for parliament. Singaporeans are very pragmatic in their living area in general

I took the trouble to be there to listen to his speech, despite my heavy schedule today. Skipped my lunch to make time.

The crowd, squeezing shoulder to shoulder, overflowing the whole of UOB Podium and Lobby and surrounding areas, standing under the hot afternoon sun, listened in awe, clapping and cheering, shouting and waving the SDP flags, is really fantastic.

Many were responding to Dr Chee Soon Juan's speech with gusto and pure sincerity from their hearts. It was as though there has been a prolonged period of drought and the farmers and pheasants have just witnessed the first downpour of rain in 15 years. Every few sentences he spoke hit a harmonious resonant chord in their yearning hearts.

If only LKY could witness this. The man whom he demonized and almost annihilated, rises like a Phoenix from the ashes.

If only Singapore Voters of Holland-Bukit-Timah were to give him a chance collectively, then you will be sure to witness a different Singapore Parliament, and soon a different Singapore.

I was greatly moved and my tears simply flowed down my cheeks without restraint. I just couldn't help it. So many thoughts flashed through my mind. The thoughts of Dr Chee's relentless persecutions by the PAP Leadership, mainly by LKY and GCT. Then also LHL. The suing games as part of the political tactics and strategies of the ruthlessly selfish self-centred PAP. The SUFFERINGS of countless other people, some prominent lawyers, some of little renown, some unknowns. Also, the late Lim Chin Siong's face came to mind.

I told myself there and then, "I have to do something to help and support him and SDP." I bought his book "Democratically Speaking" and donated some cash on the spot. I wish I can do more.

If this gentleman, a Real Gentleman, Dr Chee Soon Juan, cannot enter the Parliament, it is definitely a great loss to Singapore and Singaporeans.
