Hi All,

After doing quite a bit of research for myself these are the parts i came up with to build my first DIY Gaming Rig.

Need feedback on whether i am spending my money correctly!

Parts already purchased - 1080p 60hz Benq Monitor, Phanteks P400

Gigabyte H270 Gaming M3 + I5 7600 + DDR4 Corsair LPX 2400mhz 2x8GB Kit - $743
OCZ Trion 150 SSD 120GB + WD Blue 1TB - $145
Cryorig H7 - $65
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming + Superflower Leadex Silver 550w Full Modular - $795

Total: $1759 (all parts and prices from mynextcom)

Looking to get at least 60fps on max settings with all new titles.

Only potential upgrade within the year will be to get a 1440p Monitor.

Jumping over from console gaming. :s13:

Why you need h270 gaming series?

Zotac/palit gtx 1070 performance the same as G1 gaming but 100 bucks cheaper.

What chassis you using?

If aesthetic not important and get some of your parts from online , you can save 200-300 dollars.

Will be using a Phanteks P400 with a side window. Mobo choice mainly because of the RGB i suppose. Rig will be sitting on the desk.

I see you are using the Zotac Amp. Any issues it with it so far? high temps or throttling? (read online feedback). But i might swap out the Giga for a Zotac! $100 bucks saved is better spend elsewhere given performance is like what you said, the same.

If the price is alright for you to pay for the rgb then I won't stop you.

No issue for my side. Even on oc, with 200+ on core (2050 mhz currently) and +450 on memory. Use on 1080p 60hz no kick. Only fallout 4 max setting it kicked till 76 deg C. Some user change the thermal paste and pad inside and achieve better temps but I never try coz not needed for my case :)

I guess for casual users like me who don't really pay attention or monitor the temps and numbers, the Zotac should work as it should.

Thanks for your feedback!

Doesn't have the best look but still have led. Didn't spend too much on led. If you wanted, the led I used inside the chassis is deepcool rgb 350. Cost $29 only. Have remote to control the lights.

lol! f3 tecware casing hahahahahahaha!

but back on track, i think ts made a wrong purchase with the monitor. but that's just me la. the 1080p @ 60hz wouldn't satisfy u one with that gtx 1070.

do consider looking around in the qoo10 thread for potential savings on getting parts. there's a $88 off $500 coupon now with many other coupons in smaller denominations scattered around.

Looks nicely organized. I would lose the stock Intel heatsink though. :) Can consider Corsair H60 and mount the radiator/fan at the back.
Locked processor I don't bother. Hahaha. But thanks for the suggestion though :)

Yeah. And I do agree with you about cable management. It's a pain!

Ts got upgrades to a 1440p in near future. So the 1070 is adequate :)

Excess cables squeezed to the hdd tray as I use 2 ssd. Shift the cables to left and right to hide them away from the hole cut out from showing in the front haha
