Hello just wanted to ask the guys here that if you were orginally posted to saf or spf and after passing ur ippt will u have a chance to get posted to different unit?
I got my enlistment letter posted to spf on 14/8/19 and just passed my ippt so was just wondering if there’s a chance to go saf?

why you want to go to SAF?

No diff. You will still go to SPF. Except you will just be able to skip the 2 months ptp phase. So your stay in HTA will just be 3 months

If the issue is merely a matter of preference i.e. i prefer to enlist into SAF for my NS, i think the chances are low. The country's needs far outweigh yours, they will be very busy if every pre-enlistee wants to be choosy.

If you are thinking of making SAF your eventual career, then maybe they might care to listen.

My BMT platoon best crossed over to SPF (this was 2005), but i'm not sure if it's because of organisational needs or he intended to sign on SPF. Either way such cases are exceptionally rare, if and when they occur.

As mentioned, you will still be enlisted into the SPF just without the extra 2 months. If you want to go to the SAF, the only chance is to sign on if not there is no chance for a change in service. Only ever heard of SAF going to SPF after BMT for the police OCT course.
