Some gold and platinum rating PSU have the (eco mode) option to stop the fan spinning when low power like under 20% , but it is based on a single internal temperature sensor and the sensor is not necessarily on the most hot component
I've seen review pointing out with thermal image that there are hot spots @ 80 to 100 celcius range but it is unable to trigger the fan to start spinning (which should be around 40-50 celcius to trigger it)

this is exacerbated by our location hot weather

for the longevity of the components i flipped the switch and made sure it always spin at a minimal speed for some airflow

Simply put, the law says that life of a capacitor doubles for every 10 degree Celsius decrease in temperature (within limits).

Never believed in zero fan. I always set the GPU fan to at least 25% even when idle.
