Some gold and platinum rating PSU have the (eco mode) option to stop the fan spinning when low power like under 20% , but it is based on a single internal temperature sensor and the sensor is not necessarily on the most hot component
I've seen review pointing out with thermal image that there are hot spots @ 80 to 100 celcius range but it is unable to trigger the fan to start spinning (which should be around 40-50 celcius to trigger it)
this is exacerbated by our location hot weather
for the longevity of the components i flipped the switch and made sure it always spin at a minimal speed for some airflow
