One question for experts here
Is it still the right time to continue to add high dividend shares and reit this month?
I am looking at MLT but it just shot to 1.40 😮
So I’m looking at move away from REIT to high yielding stocks for this month

Nobody reply but after the above post I went to buy DBS at 24.2 and now 25.2 and not Sure where it will go next. I’m keeping due to the dividend. Dunno it’s by luck or not and MLT declined..
Now look at buying something again in about 1 month or so...

Just average down on dbs shares. Other stocks are volatile

Dr Wealth's thread on Dividend investors in Singapore. Dividend Warriors is also featured in this:

https://www.drwealth.com/dividend-investing-singapore/

there is no shortage of dividend-focused investment blogs, but the surprise is that they managed to find one who actually invests in foreign shares.. because everyone else, including ASSI, seems to only invests in SG shares... (or at most a small % of portfolio in foreign shares)

Anyway... power of CD! :s13:

bcos many places have withholding tax on dividends. even the person in the blog with a large US portfolio is mostly growth stocks, not income stocks.

ASSI is heavily vested in Singtel which is heavily vested in foreign markets... :(

Frankly, I prefer her 2 allocations strategy instead of purely income.

She made huge profits.

Yes..
She has also discovered the magic of the US/China market for capital gains instead of investing that capital into the SGX market.

I seriously urge all young investors to skip the SGX market and dive straight into US and China market. Get to know the companies over there and you will be amazed all are bigger and has more diverse customer base and wider outreach than most of your SGX bluechips.

Don't make the same mistake as me.. for putting blind faith in the SGX market for most of the last decade.

SGX now is cheap. Don’t buy now then u will regret again 10 years later.

This is not a binary 0 or 1.

You can buy both SGX and US/China stocks! Best of both worlds and diversification thrown in!

Bought myself some WQDV (MSCI World High Div Yield)so that I can have more dividends to count =:p

Some nice features about it.

(1) Biggest sector is healthcare followed by Consumer staples. (I have a lot of financials in my portfolio).
(2) Noticed that the spread is very tight, currently $0.01.
(3) TER is ok at 0.38%.
(4) Only issue is fund size as launched in 2017.

I think worth building up a position for the 3%+ yield.
