R they safe?

My hubby says not to use them. Not safe.

How to cancel?

If I don't start using it from my particular bank, can they activate it without my permission?

One of the terms says money once transferred cannot be returned.

Is it susceptible to scams abuse?

Esp since they use QR code.

Sorry not very good at IT stuff.

Why not safe? You need to activate them to start using and there is need for your authorization when you make any payment or transfer.

You use fast also need login to ibanking and use 2FA.
Use paynow, paylah also need to use 2FA.
Both can set limit to control daily transfers.

Instead of pressing account number to transfer, now can use nric, mobile number or qr code to transfer. Same same but different.

This is a classic case of fear mongering. It literally requires 2FA authentication. Also, like what was previously mentioned, you're 99% more likely to key an account number wrongly when transferring, than keying in the wrong number for PayNow transfers (since once you key in already, they'll pop up the recipient's name). The integration of PayNow into the POSB/DBS app makes the thing so much more useful now. Can send money over to people so easily (like if splitting bills, etc).

If your worry is only the QR code scamming part, then don't anyhow scan QR codes?

The other parts of PayNow are just redirecting of phone number to bank account number in FAST.

But I use sms to get pin number to authorise transactions. Not token anymore.

Though I still have some bank tokens.

Will the sms code be intercepted?

Possible but not easy right?

If I activate from one local bank, only that local bank's paynow is activated right?

Not other local banks right?

You can paynow out from any of your bank account, just like FAST. There is 2FA.

You need to setup Paynow in a bank of your choice (using NRIC number/ handphone number) so that others can paynow you money just by using the NRIC number/ handphone number.
