PC boot up issue

hi guys,

I recently have this problem with my pc and im unable to determine the problem. when i press the power up button on the pc, nothing happens. so i switch off the power on the multi plug and on it again and immediately the pc boot up without having to press anything. i connect my psu power cable to a multi plug socket and always switch off all the switches after using. Once the pc boot up, it run like normal without any funny sound. This is the setup i using for reference. Any help will be appreciated !

Main Plug --> Multi plug socket --> Monitor, PC, Speakers

i5 2500k gigabyte ud3p mobo
2 x 4gb ram
msi gtx 580
corsair ax850

Hi, please open your case, and check that your front connectors/24Pin/4/8 Pin are connected properly. it could be a loose connection .

the next thing i would do is to verify that your power supply is working properly,

Do a paperclip test.

If it is running means ok. If it does not then got to RMA the PSU.

ok I will give it a try tonight, thanks a lot.
btw if I were to upgrade for games like cod ghosts and bf4, what would I need to change to achieve max settings and stable fps on a 50inch hdtv ?
for gpu wise I need a gpu with hdmi connection. any advise ? budget wise as long to achieve the above. Many thanks !
