Hi all, juz wanna know what could be a prob if my PC boots up everything well with fans and power inside went well and NO beep sounds but with Black screen and num lock on keyboard didn't turn on. The casing power light will turn off after awhile and then back to on stagnant. No noises also been heard. I'm wondering could it be a mobo prob?

Specs as follows:
CPU i7 870 intel
Mobo MSI P55-GD85
PSU Cooler Master M2 Slient pro 720
Ram 8GB 4x2GB DDR3
GFX Powercolor 7870

Will be trying to reseat GFX n Rams to try again...

Then it is as good as DIY pc. Dun think have. The brand names earn your money thru their bundled configurations. It is cheaper to use their own parts (sometimes can be inferior components.) they won't give u motherboard that has ultra durable capacitors. Their psu is just enough to power up the components inside the casing. The rams used will be lower brand names that u never heard before.

With the inferior parts, it is natural for the pc to malfunction within first year and thus their onsite warranty servicing will then seem to come in handy. If no more warranty, u will probably buy a new pc.

For the long term, it is better to learn how to troubleshoot a DIY pc.

U see, reseating rams n gpu not that difficult right? Solved immediately n saved money by asking here.

True but I seems to have encountered quite a lot of diff probs when I'm using a DIY PC but yea seems like SLS only place if I wanna keep using same parts... Whatever the case, I will like to buy a tower casing next time. My current casing have to bend n cut the rear metal casing in order to fix in my VGA... N space inside my PC is so small... Will upgrade to tower next time... Thnxs for the replies guys!
