Helping a friend to ask... recommendations for PC build 1.5k budget (includes Screen and OS) He is also going to use it for BF4, Bioshock Infinite and AC: BF . Don't need those siao on ultra graphics. Trying to keep it cheaper. Looking towards R280X gpu. Going to buy parts and DIY.

The B85m dgs and B85m G43 are both at same price? B85M g43 is a better choice.

For ssd, can top up another $139 for Plextor M5S 128gb from convergent online webstore. Comes with 3 yrs warranty.

SSD not only boost boot-up speeds, but also your user experience.

In what way does it boost user experience? I know the SSD would make loading faster...other than that?

It feels smoother, things load up faster such as firing up applications, etc. If you are used to using HDD for years and you try using on ssd, you can tell the difference.

1 more thing. Since now the price diff btwn W. 7 & 8 not very large right, which one is "better" ? Pros & Cons. Currently using W. 7 ... so not sure about 8.

Win8 has a learning curve, so if can overcome it, shouldnt be a problem... If unsure, just stick to wins7. It will take years before wins7 become EOL.

How come the prices I see here vary from the pricelist I googled online ? Weird.
